| John graduated in 2005 from Utopia High School. He
joined the Army reserved in the spring of 2003 in his junior year and was
able to serve his basic training at Fort Jackson, SC the summer between
his junior and senior year. He served his monthly drills at Fort Sam
Houston in San Antonio all during his senior year until he was deployed in
2006. He came back home in November 2007 and immediately decided to
go active duty and is now stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. John is the son of Melvin Lanphier of Utopia, Texas and Katherine Henry of Colorado Springs, Colorado. His grandmother is Connie Lanphier of Utopia, Texas. John is married to Whitney Lanphier of Junction City, Kansas. John served in Iraq from October 2006 to November 2007.
